Mrs. Stephanie Smith

Mrs. Stephanie Smith became the Principal of Lenoir County Learning Academy in January 2019. Prior to her being named principal of LCLA, she was an Assistant Principal at Kinston High School since 2015.  Mrs. Smith, a Lenoir County native, began her career with Lenoir County Public Schools in 1999 as an English/Language Arts teacher at Rochelle Middle School where she taught for 13 years. After that time, Smith taught in Pitt County at Grifton K-8 school  for 1 ½ years. Smith returned to Lenoir County Public Schools to take an administrator’s position at KHS.

Mrs. Smith obtained her undergraduate degree from St. Augustine’s College in 1992 in English/Communications.  She obtained her teacher’s certification from East Carolina University while employed at WNCT-TV 9 as an Assignment Desk Manager.  Smith’s Master of School Administration was also obtained at ECU in 2011.

Mrs. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
